Local Businesses unite to champion Women & Girls Rugby in Sponsorship Deal for North Petherton RFC
Three local businesses have joined forces to support women and girl’s rugby and inspire the next generation of players in a new partnership with North Petherton RFC.
Hatched Agency, Begbies Traynor, and Towergate have announced their sponsorship of the Under 14s and Under 16s girls’ rugby kits, marking a significant step towards increasing the visibility and accessibility of women’s rugby at a grassroots level.
The sponsorship announcement follows the launch of England Rugby’s ‘Love Rugby’ campaign, which was launched in October 2023 to encourage more girls to play rugby than ever before.
By supporting girls rugby, the sponsors are not only providing essential resources but also hoping to send a powerful message of encouragement to budding female athletes across Somerset.
Commenting on the partnership, Sharon Sweet, commercial director of North Petherton RFC, said:
“We are so grateful to our trio of sponsors which enables us to nurture and develop our girls’ rugby programme. There has never been a better time to get involved in rugby. The game is so beneficial to mental and physical health, and I would strongly encourage any girl to come along to the club and give it a try.”
Gavin Sadler, Managing Director of Hatched Agency, said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Begbies Traynor and Towergate to support women’s rugby. This sponsorship represents our shared belief in the importance of creating opportunities for all individuals to pursue sport. By supporting the U14s and U16s girls teams at North Petherton RFC, we hope to inspire a new generation of female rugby players and contribute to the growth and success of women’s rugby.”
Echoing this sentiment, Dave Baum of Begbies Traynor, remarked, “At Begbies Traynor, we are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion. By sponsoring North Petherton RFC, we are proud to play a part in empowering young girls to pursue their passion for rugby.”
Ryan Denslow of Towergate, added, “Towergate is dedicated to supporting local communities and fostering a culture of inclusivity and opportunity.”
